OAP(Over-Axle Pipe) (GPF (Gas Particulate Filter) Delete Kit) for 982 718 Boxster/Cayman GT4/GTS/Spyder 4.0 Naturally Aspirated for both PDK/Manual.
This is our VERY first exhaust system release from Gripforce. It's a Gas Particulate Filter (GPF) Delete Kit that will increase both sound and HP/Torque. Cars from the past never had the GPF but as emissions got stricter car companies started putting these in. This not only muffles the sound but also robs some HP/Torque from the engine. Porsches are known to have lively and sharp exhaust notes but with these extra filters cars became dull. The 981 Porsche Cayman/Boxster with 3.8 engines were quite loud but starting the 982 models where the manufacturer started putting these extra filters cars became very dull. So we've developed these filter delete kits that are BOLT-ON (No Cutting or welding needed) with all the gaskets and bolts/nuts included. Not only that they come heat-shield pre-installed! Normally, other companies wrap the foil or cloth around them which not only looks cheap but they wear out too. But our systems come pre-installed with these nice looking heat-shield.
Also, this is 100% emissions legal in all 50 US States since the catalytic converters mounted on each headers are the systems that are responsible for the emissions with the O2 sensors. These GPFs do not have any O2 sensors, which means they don't throw any Check Engine lights nor any warning lights. It will also pass smog.

What is the difference between a gasoline particulate filter and a catalytic converter?
In principle, they accomplish the same function but for different pollutants. Whereas a particulate filter will clean the air of particulates in the air, a catalytic converter uses heat and chemical processes to transform pollutants emitted by the engine into less noxious substances.
